Job summary

Morgan Truck Body is seeking a Regional Continuous Improvement Manager to deploy the Pondexter Lean Production System across six plants. You will lead cross-functional teams on shop floors, drive KPI-based improvements, and identify automation opportunities while mentoring staff in Lean methods.

Expect hands-on work on the shop floor, strong strategic thinking, and travel across West and East regions to implement process improvements and sustain gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in Discrete manufacturing applying Lean and problem-solving tools.
• 5+ years in Lean & CI and financial calculation of savings, budget forecasting, ROI.
• 5+ years implementing a visual factory displaying real-time information.
• Trained in Lean Six Sigma Principles (5S, Waste Reduction, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, A3, VSM, KAIZEN).
• Strong analytical skills with experience in financial calculations of savings/ROI.
• Experience in operational performance evaluation (Efficiency/Productivity/Utilization).
• Ability to travel 50% to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Document current processes and propose improvements through Kaizen events and VSMs.
• Standardize processes across units; develop SOPs, work standards, 5S, and KPI displays.
• Lead Lean & CI initiatives and track manufacturing KPIs and savings.
• Create self-sustaining processes and tracking systems with Kaizen activity.
• Train staff in Lean & CI principles for project execution.
• Lead process changes, value stream mapping, and ROI validation.
• Foster cross-plant communication between Morgan and JB Poindexter.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve Kaizen objectives.
• Improve workflow efficiency via line balancing and waste elimination.
• Mentor staff in Lean problem solving and project execution.
• Publish progress reports and ensure safety policy compliance.
