Job summary

Modivcare seeks an experienced Government Affairs Director to lead the state government affairs strategy across the West region. You will serve as the company’s senior in-state representative before legislatures, governors’ offices, Medicaid agencies, and executive branch leadership, directing advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders.

You will design statewide strategies, manage contract lobbyists, monitor policy developments, and collaborate with Sales, Operations, Product, Legal,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of state government affairs, public policy, or public affairs experience.
• Proven ability as external representative before policymakers and regulators.
• Experience coordinating with contract lobbyists and external stakeholders.
• Healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, transportation policy, or other regulated industries preferred.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead state-level legislative and executive branch advocacy across assigned states.
• Develop and implement statewide advocacy strategies aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Prepare testimony, letters, and briefings for hearings and regulatory proceedings.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Compliance to support procurement and rate stability.
• Monitor policy developments and communicate risks and opportunities to leadership.
• Travel as required (up to 60%).
