Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Sr. Field Visual Merchandiser to oversee our West district House of Sport stores, based in Los Angeles or San Diego, CA, with around 75% travel across the market.

The role drives brand visual strategy, leads field visual teams, and collaborates with store leadership to elevate the athlete experience, drive sales, and optimize space and standards across districts.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or Visual Merchandising.
• 7–10 years of Management Experience with Visual Merchandising in softlines.
• Understanding of customer and retail merchandising strategies.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills based on analytics.
• Conflict management and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent training and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of customer service principles.
• Manage execution responsibilities and workload of direct reports to achieve department deliverables.
• Establish succession plans within 0–2 year horizon.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Visual Merchandising as a key contributor to sales, margin and turn.
• Evaluates KPI performance and makes commercial recommendations based on sound financial judgment.
• Creates brand-aligned merchandise presentations using strong design principles.
• Ensures optimized use of selling space and seasonal flow.
• Champions visual merchandising as a driver of business and athlete experience.
• Supports field staff through training and development.
• Leads planning and coordination for gameplans, launches, and new store initiatives.
• Provides regional leadership for new store openings, remodels, and concept evolution.
• Translates visual direction into actionable plans with cross-functional alignment.
• Solves problems in real time adapting plans to space, inventory and operations.
• Builds field visual organization through coaching and talent development.
