Job summary

BST Senior Living West Inc. is seeking a Part Time Security/Front Desk Clerk for Blue Skies of Texas in San Antonio, TX 78245. The role covers rounds, gate control, and safety duties during weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include reporting deficiencies, directing traffic, transporting residents as needed, and responding to emergencies. CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and a valid Texas driver’s license are required, with on-site duties at Blue Skies of Texas facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience as a Security Guard, Courtesy Officer, or Front Desk Clerk.
• Current Texas driver’s license with a good driving record and insurable by Blue Skies carriers.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Makes interior and exterior rounds of Blue Skies of Texas facilities and grounds, checking boilers and basic plant operations and reporting deficiencies.
• Observes unauthorized persons or vehicles and acts according to procedures.
• Directs and controls traffic and parking for large functions.
• Transports residents, employees, and others as needed.
• Acts as First Responder and handles emergencies per instructions.
• Expedites entry of emergency vehicles and writes incident reports.
• Consults with Supervisor on policy exceptions and restrictions.
• Manages access at main gate and logs visitor entry/exit.
• Performs minor repairs when maintenance is unavailable.
• Performs Front Desk Clerk duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Makes interior and exterior rounds of Blue Skies of Texas facilities and grounds, either walking or driving company vehicle or golf cart, to include checking basic plant mechanical operations such as ensuring the boiler is operational; promptly reports any deficiencies to Supervisor, management, and the Maintenance Department.
• Observes and responds to the presence of unauthorized persons or vehicles; investigates and acts according to standard procedures outlined by Supervisor.
• Directs and controls traffic and parking for large functions.
• Transports residents, employees, and others, as directed, from place of request to main building as needed.
• Acts as First Responder and responds to problems and emergencies according to established instructions and procedures; exercises good judgment as the situation requires.
• Expedites entry and departure of emergency vehicles and responds to emergencies as prescribed in the Emergency Action Book.
• Submits comprehensive incident reports of any non‑routine events occurring during shift.
• Consults with Supervisor on any situation involving exception to policies or procedures.
• Regulates access to Blue Skies of Texas facilities by vehicles and persons on foot entering the premises at the main gate; follows directions given by resident, Supervisor, or management regarding restricted entry or expected arrival of guests.
• Issues visitor passes as appropriate and maintains a log of entry and departure of all visitors.
• Informs residents and staff of the arrival of visitors or guests.
• Operates gate when appropriate.
• Performs security checks of vehicles and of employee personal items in accordance with Blue Skies of Texas policy, including purchases made at Blue Skies of Texas and Thrift Stores.
• Makes minor repairs such as unstopping toilets or sinks, resetting smoke detectors and replacing batteries, changing light bulbs, etc., when maintenance personnel are not on duty.
• Performs duties as a Front Desk Clerk as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: At least one year of experience as a Security Guard, Courtesy Officer, or Front Desk Clerk preferred.
• Required: Must possess a current, valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record and remain insurable by Blue Skies carriers required.
• Required: Must possess current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
