Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a West Coast Waterfront Electrification & Decarbonization Senior Port Planner to drive electrification programs across ports, ferries, and maritime infrastructure. You will mentor teams, engage clients, and shape decarbonization strategies in a fast-growing market.

Based in Seattle, the role requires deep maritime planning experience, leadership, and expertise in emissions reduction, regulations, and funding programs. Travel and cross-office collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, or Environmental Science; required.
• 18+ years of port/maritime engineering and planning experience; required.
• Extensive expertise in maritime air quality, emissions reduction, and climate planning; required.
• Deep knowledge of regulations and funding driving maritime decarbonization; required.
• Proven record advising ports/agencies, winning work, and leading major programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as core participant in West Coast Electrification & Decarbonization leadership.
• Advise clients on electrification, resiliency, funding, and evolving regulations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across West Coast offices toward multi-year programs.
• Mentor staff and represent M&N at conferences and industry groups.
• Expand emissions modeling in terminal planning tools using AIS data and Python.
