Moffatt & Nichol, a leading U.S.-based infrastructure advisor, seeks a West Coast Waterfront Electrification & Decarbonization Senior Port Planner to join our Seattle office. You will drive electrification programs across ports, ferry operators, and maritime sectors, mentoring teams and shaping strategy.

Ideal candidates have extensive port/maritime experience, knowledge of regulations, and strong client relationships on the West Coast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, or Environmental Science; required
• 18+ years of experience related to port/maritime engineering and planning; required
• Extensive expertise in maritime air quality, emissions reduction, and climate/sustainability planning, with working knowledge of port electrification and utility infrastructure; required
• Deep knowledge of the regulations and funding programs driving maritime decarbonization; required
• Proven record advising ports and agencies, winning work, and leading major programs, with established West Coast client relationships; required
• Communicates compellingly to executives and stakeholders; emissions modeling and data analytics experience; preferred
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Responsibilities

• Join the West Coast PD&E leadership team to develop electrification strategies across ports and maritime sectors
• Advise ports on electrification, resiliency, funding, and evolving regulations
• Grow client relationships and pursue new projects within the maritime sector
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across West Coast offices on multi-year programs
• Foster collaboration among planning, environmental, infrastructure, engineering, funding, and implementation teams
• Expand emissions modeling in terminal planning tools using AIS data and Python analytics
• Mentor staff and represent M&N at industry groups and conferences
