Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to administer and support our West Coast Health & Safety Program. You will collaborate with area leaders, project managers, and field teams to implement policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen safety performance across offices and sites.

The role requires 10+ years in safety, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership skills. Travel is significant (50-60%), and a Radiation Safety Officer function is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of safety management experience.
• CPR/First Aid instructor certification and training experience.
• Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) certification or plan to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain safety programs across the West Coast and support NHSL in company-wide initiatives.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
• Provide safety training for new hires and existing staff on protocols.
• Lead investigations of incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and training; prepare safety reports.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
• Provide safety leadership to foster a strong safety culture.
• Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses; recommend solutions.
• Obtain MSHA certification and oversee MSHA compliance and reporting.
