Job summary

Verdantas seeks a Health & Safety Manager to administer the West Coast Health & Safety Program, reporting to the NHSL. You will implement company-wide safety policies, train staff, lead incident investigations, and manage emergency plans in office, remote, and field settings.

You will coordinate with area leaders and project teams to improve safety performance, obtain MSHA/RSO certifications, and ensure regulatory compliance across projects and offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience.
• Professional safety certification is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong attention to detail in safety management.
• CPR/First Aid Instructor certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain health and safety programs across the West Coast.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Conduct safety audits and inspect facilities to mitigate risks.
• Provide safety training for new hires and staff.
• Lead investigations of incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and prepare reports.
• Develop emergency response plans and procedures.
• Provide safety leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
• Obtain and maintain Radiation Safety Officer certification; manage regulatory requirements including NRC and California DoH for densitometer gauges.
• Collaborate with project managers to advance H&S performance and culture.
• Support MSHA certification and compliance efforts.
