Job summary

Standard Bots is seeking an Applications Engineering Manager to lead a field team of Applications Engineers on the West Coast. This hands-on leadership role requires staying involved on the factory floor, overseeing designs, integrations, and customer engagements while mentoring engineers to deliver high-quality deployments.

You will report to the VP of Applications Engineering, own territory development, and collaborate with the regional sales team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applications engineering, systems integration, or automation engineering experience.
• 2+ years of people management or team lead experience.
• Strong customer-facing presence and ability to represent Standard Bots credibly at a senior level.
• Experience managing a distributed team or territory; able to lead people you don't see every day.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Applications Engineers across your territory, managing workload, capacity planning, and customer engagements.
• Serve as senior technical escalation point for complex integrations and escalations.
• Partner with Regional Sales Manager on territory priorities and customer strategy.
• Stay hands-on: design solutions, review integrations, commission cells, and support installs.
• Travel to customer sites as needed for escalations and key deployments.
