Job summary

Worley seeks a Wells Support Technician for the North Slope, AK, in a remote/rotational role. Expect an 84-hour week with 40 hours straight time and 44 hours at time-and-a-half. On-site meals and lodging are provided, and Worley covers transportation between Anchorage and the North Slope.

Key duties include operating on Wells Intervention teams, performing manual labor, hydro-testing, and coordinating coil and E-Line jobs. Strong safety focus and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and ability to be insured.
  • Endorsements for Tanker and Hazmat within 6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • NSTC certification training available through Worley if needed.

Wells Support Technician - North Slope, AK (PRU016J )

This is a remote/ rotational position, working on the North Slope of Alaska. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and the North Slope is provided.

Job Summary:

Working under the supervision of the Wells Support Lead, the Wells Support Technician performs day-to-day manual labor and maintenance on equipment and facilities for the Wells Intervention Team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate support for the company's HSE management system.
  • Perform manual labor including clean up and stick picking.
  • Perform heavy labor such as layout of hardline pipe and hauling/stacking materials on trailers or skids.
  • Perform hydro-testing on hard line or wellheads.
  • Set up Wells Support jobs including Coil jobs, E-Line jobs, Full bore Jobs, Tree replacements, Well Disconnect and Reconnect with various flow-back components and pressure equipment.
  • Perform rigging load calculations and proper rigging for lifting operations.
  • Safely climb ladders up to 25’ in height.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to identify flanges.
  • Knowledge of hardline components and uses.
  • Knowledge of hydro testing.
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with wellhead components, bolt-up procedures, flanges, threaded pipe and fittings, and proper safe use of tools.
  • Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions.
  • Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate.
  • Capable of learning various Worley and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies.
  • Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures.

Physical Demand/Work Environment:


Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
  • Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
  • Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
  • Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
  • Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and the ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
  • The ability to obtain both Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within 6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC).Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) years’ experience with flange identification, triplex pump, bolt-up, or basic rigging procedures.
  • One (1) years’ experience working in a Wells Intervention environment.
