Job summary

Worley seeks a Wells Intervention Roustabout for a remote/rotational role in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The position operates on a two-week on/ two-week off cycle with a typical 84-hour week (40 hours straight time plus 44+ hours overtime).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Attend technical, developmental and safety trainings.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Support HSE management system.
  • Perform manual labor including cleanup and stick picking.
  • Lay out hardline pipe and haul/stack materials.
  • Operate Wells service equipment (Loaders, Rig Trucks, Forklifts, Man-lifts, Boom Trucks, Lowboys).
  • Perform hydro-testing on hard line or wellheads.
  • Set up Wells Support jobs (Coil, E-Line, Full bore, Tree replacements, Well Disconnect/Reconnect).
  • Perform rigging load calculations and proper rigging for lifting operations.
  • Climb ladders and work safely at various heights.

Job description

This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose
Working under the supervision of the Wells Intervention Lead, the Wells Intervention Roustabout performs day to day manual labor and maintenance on equipment and facilities for the Wells Intervention Team.
Essential Job Functions
  • Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate support for the company’s HSE management system.
  • Perform manual labor including clean up and stick picking.
  • Perform heavy labor such as layout of hardline pipe and hauling/stacking materials on trailers or skids.
  • Operate Wells service equipment: Loaders, Rig Trucks, Forklifts, Man-lifts, Boom Trucks, Lowboys.
  • Perform hydro-testing on hard line or wellheads.
  • Set up Wells Support jobs including Coil jobs, E-Line jobs, Full bore Jobs, Tree replacements, Well Disconnect and Reconnect with various flow-back components and pressure equipment.
  • Perform rigging load calculations and proper rigging for lifting operations.
  • Safely climb ladders of various heights.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Able to identify flanges.
  • Knowledge of hardline components and uses.
  • Knowledge of hydro testing.
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with wellhead components, bolt-up procedures, flanges, threaded pipe and fittings, and proper safe use of tools.
  • Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions.
  • Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate.
  • Capable of learning various Worley and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies.
  • Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures.
Physical Demand/Work Environment
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
  • Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
  • Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
  • Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
  • Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications
  • Obtain a valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsement within six months from date of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsement required and ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.
  • One (1) year experience with flange identification, triplex pump, bolt-up, or basic rigging procedures.
  • One (1) year experience in petrochemical environment.
  • One (1) year experience working in a Wells Intervention environment.
  • One (1) year experience with various Windows-based computer programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
