Responsibilities

• Outreach and engage with clients
• Provide direct services and program coverage
• Maintain safety in program spaces
• Provide crisis intervention and support
• Assist in case management activities
• Work a full‑time schedule (Wednesday – Saturday, 10:30pm – 8:30am)

Qualifications

• Education in social work or a related field of study and experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness, or a comparable combination of work experience, education, and/or training.
• Alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low‑barrier services.
• Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician (MHRT‑1) certification (required; can be obtained on the job/after hire).
• Strong communication, de‑escalation, and crisis intervention skills.
• Familiarity with community resources.
• Ability to engage with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to work a full‑time schedule, with consistent and reliable attendance.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $23.83 per hour
• Shift differentials: $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00am and 10:00pm; $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00pm and 7:00am
• Paid time off: 160 vacation hours, 96 sick hours, 32 personal hours, 12 paid holidays
