Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Health, Wellness, Fitness, Nutrition or related field preferred.
• Two years of full-time experience in fitness, health and wellness or related field; substitutions available per policy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support facility recreation and wellness programs.
• Coordinate, manage and maintain a facility-based recreation and wellness program to reduce health risk and encourage healthy lifestyles.
• Coordinate reporting and retention of records; prepare and submit reports.
• Conduct recreation and wellness classes for incarcerated residents.
• Present recreation and wellness topics to facility staff.
• Implement and market recreation and wellness activities and communications.
• Facilitate participation in recreation and wellness events.
• Assist with data gathering to measure program success.
• Motivate participants to set and reach health goals.
• Distribute recreation and wellness communications, supplies and materials.
• Organize and promote presentations by outside speakers on recreation and wellness.
• Prepare and submit requests for supplies, equipment and materials.
• Communicate activities and accomplishments using approved forms.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
