Job summary

The Woodbury YMCA is seeking a Health & Wellness Director to lead a team of about 40 employees and oversee wellness operations, staff development, and budget management while driving revenue and delivering a high-quality member experience.

This role requires leadership experience, a history of meeting goals, and a background in group exercise, personal training, or fitness operations, with flexibility for evening coverage and branch leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in group exercise and personal training.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Proven management ability in budget and financial control and staff management and development.
• Demonstrated success promoting and selling programs and activities.
• Ability to work in highly flexible and rapidly changing work environment.
• Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthy living programs including fitness and wellness trends.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various groups to achieve a desired end result.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage programs to a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and direction for health and wellness programs.
• Manage personal training, group exercise, ForeverWell, and related activities.
• Directly supervise trainers, group exercise instructors, and other team members.
• Prepare and manage program budgets to meet revenue goals.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members across leadership areas.
• Ensure high level of customer service and member satisfaction.
• Maintain quality fitness floor equipment and clean program areas.
