Job summary

Illinois State University is seeking a Wellness Peer Educator to serve as a student leader within Health Promotion and Wellness. You will deliver evidence-informed programming, facilitate peer education, and support campus-wide initiatives across the eight dimensions of wellness.

The role includes workshops, outreach, collaboration with housing and student groups, staffing the front desk, and training aligned with NASPA competencies.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in student wellbeing or health promotion.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and on a team.
• Comfortable connecting with peers in person and working at events with high student interaction.
• Experience in event planning or customer service.
• Passion for wellness topics including mental and physical health.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive workshops and outreach on priority well-being topics.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer conversations promoting healthy behaviors.
• Represent HPW and Redbird Well at campus events and resource fairs.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs.
• Collaborate with student organizations, residence halls, and campus partners to expand reach.
• Contribute to health messaging through social media and promotional materials.
