Job summary

Sunshine Retirement Living is seeking a Wellness Nurse to provide person-centered care, monitor resident health, administer medications, and communicate with families and physicians.

You will serve as a clinical resource for caregiving staff in memory care, ensure safety and dignity, and document care in electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Current, valid LPN or RN license required.
• Experience in long-term care, acute care, or geriatric nursing preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and to communicate professionally with staff, families, and outside customers.
• No disqualifying criminal or care offenses per regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, journals, regulations.
• Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a positive and respectful approach; be a team player.
• Ability to write nursing/patient progress notes and procedures.
• Knowledge of dementia care or willingness to complete memory care training.
• Pass Sunshine’s and state-regulated background checks and TB clearance if applicable.

Job description

The overall purpose of the Wellness Nurse position is to provide Person-Centered Care consistent with accepted standardsandexpectationsofSunshineRetirementLivingandstateregulations. TheWellnessNurse'sresponsibilities include, but are not limited to, monitoring resident health status, providing physical care, and early diagnosis and intervention of resident changes in health status. Wellness Nurses must communicate politely and effectively with family, primary physicians, and perform all administrative charting or other services as required by regulations and company policy. In assisted living and memory care, the Wellness Nurse ensures care practices that promote safety, dignity, and engagement for residents with cognitive impairment, while serving as a clinical resource and role model for caregiving staff.
