Job summary

Maple Grove Wellness & Rehabilitation in Missouri is seeking a Cook to prepare meals per the menu, monitor safety and sanitation, and ensure timely service.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), 2 years of large-scale cooking experience and 1 year in long-term care, with duties including menu reviews, ordering assistance, and following recipes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years as cook in a large-scale operation preferred.
• One year’s work experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Reviews menus, resident census information, production guides and pre-prep sheets to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.
• Prepares food according to safe food handling guidelines per company policy and state and federal codes and regulations.
• Assists with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor; preps food in a timely manner to preserve quality and serve meals.
• Maintains standards for food preparation and quality of food service; uses nutrition substitutes when required and follows standardized recipes.
• Operates kitchen utensils and equipment (blenders, mixer, slicer, steamer, processor, oven, range, tilt skillet).
• Completes pre-preparation and assists with special function meals.
• Ensures meals are served on time and maintains temperature controls.
• In absence of Dietary Manager, Dietary Aide reports to the Cook.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalency
