Job summary

The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is seeking a part-time Fitness Center Attendant to provide a welcoming, safe fitness floor experience at the Lakewood-Trumbull location. You will engage members, offer basic coaching on equipment, and connect guests with programs and resources to support wellness goals.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain), and a safety-conscious mindset to respond calmly in emergencies and uphold

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of fitness/strength training; strength equipment experience preferred.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the association timeframe.
• Observant and safety-conscious with ability to react calmly in emergencies.
• Commitment to inclusion and ADA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Model YMCA core values and greet members on the fitness floor.
• Provide floor coverage, answer questions, share programs and resources.
• Coach safe use of strength and cardio equipment and refer to instructors as needed.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness per schedule.
• Monitor safety and conduct; respond to incidents and complete reports.
• Follow policies and mandated reporting procedures.
• Perform other duties to support a quality member experience.
