Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking staff to provide exceptional member service in a safe, engaging environment that supports wellness and healthy living. Responsibilities include upholding safety, maintaining equipment, answering member questions, and promoting programs to foster community connections on the wellness floor.

Candidates should embody the YMCA values and be prepared for mandatory trainings; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and abuse prevention training are required at hire.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training upon hire.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA’s five core values in all program activities.
• Assist members on the wellness floor and uphold safety standards.
• Monitors the wellness floor to ensure proper and safe use of equipment; reports accidents/incidents.
• Monitors equipment condition and reports repairs.
• Keeps exercise equipment neat and clean.
• Responds to member questions or concerns.
• Builds relationships with members and connects them with YMCA programs including Personal Training.
• Maintains knowledge of wellness trends to provide helpful information to members.
