Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a dedicated wellness staff member to provide excellent service in a safe, engaging environment that promotes member wellness and healthy living.

You will assist on the wellness floor, uphold safety standards, monitor equipment, answer member questions, and promote programs while upholding YMCA policies and culture. This role emphasizes community, safety, and service.

Qualifications

• Reading, interpreting, retaining, and teaching safety documents and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA core values in all program activities.
• Assist members on wellness floor and uphold safety standards.
• Monitor wellness floor and ensure safe equipment use; report accidents/incidents.
• Monitor equipment condition and report repairs.
• Keep equipment neat and clean.
• Respond to member questions or concerns.
• Build relationships with members and promote programs.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends to support members.
• Follow YMCA policies and respond to emergencies.
• Report suspicious behaviors and policy violations.
• Follow abuse and incident reporting requirements.
• Meet deadlines for supporting systems and compliance.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
