Job summary

Carilion Wellness Roanoke is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to support wellness programs. You will screen, assess, and design exercise prescriptions for participants, including those with chronic conditions or post-surgical needs, in private and group settings.

You will work under the Wellness Clinical Programs Manager, maintain EPIC records, track progress, and communicate with referring clinicians. A Bachelor's in Exercise Science and ACSM-EP or equivalent certification is required or

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine or related field is required.
• Experience: 2 years recent and relevant experience required.
• Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Personal training certification or certified exercise physiologist or certified clinical exercise physiologist or certified strength and conditioning specialist from a nationally recognized organization is required; Carilion approved specialty training certifications: orthopedic, movement disorder, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and cancer are required within 90 days of hire.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team; excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen and assess physiological measures to ensure safety of exercise interventions.
• Develops and maintains safe, effective individualized exercise prescriptions.
• Lead programs in private and group settings across diverse client populations.
• Communicate progress and concerns to referring clinicians; maintain accurate EPIC records.
