About the Opportunity

The Wellness Coordinator provides hands-on supervision of Wellness staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care while promoting resident health, safety, and well-being. This role partners closely with the Wellness Director to support community operations, regulatory compliance, staffing, and resident-centered care initiatives. A key component of this position is the ability to effectively manage staffing schedules, coordinate coverage, and maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet resident needs while supporting operational efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assumes community management responsibilities as assigned by the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director.
  • Oversees staffing schedules, manages shift coverage, coordinates call-offs, and assists with maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
  • Demonstrates strong scheduling, organization, and time management skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Maintains knowledge of current assisted living regulations and assists in ensuring compliance with community policies, pharmacy procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Promotes resident and staff safety by recognizing, reporting, and acting promptly to minimize risks and prevent injuries.
  • Assists the Wellness Director in ensuring infection prevention and control standards are met in accordance with community and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintains required certifications and licenses in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and evaluating Wellness staff.
  • Ensures medication management training and monitoring meet regulatory requirements and community quality standards.
  • Provides direct resident care as needed and serves as a role model for quality care and service.
Critical Success Factors
  • Current license or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a healthcare setting.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with staff scheduling, staffing coordination, and workforce management is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to staffing needs, and maintain accurate scheduling records.
  • CBRF certifications: Medication Administration, Standard Precautions, First Aide & Choking, & Fire Safety.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
