Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta seeks a Wellness Director to lead branch wellness and group exercise programs, manage budgets, and supervise staff and volunteers. The role emphasizes recruiting partners and expanding member engagement across youth and adult programs.

You will coordinate community outreach, ensure safety standards, and collaborate with leadership to align initiatives with the association's mission of creating lasting health and wellbeing for families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, exercise psychology, behavioral science, or a health-related field required.
• Current national group exercise/personal training certification from recognized organizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a plan for wellness and group exercise program growth and alignment with branch budget, goals, and association initiatives.
• Supervise all wellness and group exercise programs.
• Manage budgets and hold staff accountable for high-quality results.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the Wellness Department, including employees and volunteers.
• Develop strategies to attract new members and corporate partnerships.
• Lead pilots for new programs and implement best practices with staff engagement.
• Monitor progress toward branch goals by reviewing reports.
• Coordinate marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and support the Director on related issues.
