Job summary

Heartland Family Service seeks a Wellness/InSHAPE advocate to help members develop and implement personal wellness programs. You will provide education, support, and motivation around fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being in community settings, and mentor volunteers as needed.

You will train and guide participants, manage a caseload, and collect progress data to demonstrate outcomes while working a flexible, client-centered schedule in a trauma-informed environment.

Qualifications

• Personal Trainer Certification and related nutrition training.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field.
• Willing to work a 10:00am–6:30pm daily schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provides community and residential-based support to implement participants' health goals.
• Manages a caseload of approximately 10–20 clients with InSHAPE plans.
• Designs and supports wellness plans to promote sobriety and economic self-sufficiency for mothers and their children.
• Provides fitness training, monitoring, and reassessment of exercise and nutrition.
• Creates healthy meal plans, coordinates weekly groceries, and assists in preparing meals.
• Educates on healthy food practices and parenting habits.
