Job summary

Aims Community College seeks a Safety Associate to monitor the fitness facilities and ensure safe, efficient operations at the Greeley and Windsor campuses.

This part-time role offers 20–25 hours per week, CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain, and benefits for part-time staff. Responsibilities include supervising equipment use, providing safety orientation, assisting guests, and coordinating with the Facility Lead on incidents and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of related experience.
• Pre-employment physical exam required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Attend in-house meetings and training sessions.
• Effective decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of weight room operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Strength Center and Cardiovascular Conditioning Studios ensuring individuals and groups are using equipment correctly and following all safety procedures.
• Monitor facility and proactively provide specific instruction for appropriate training and conditioning equipment use and provide equipment safety orientation to user groups.
• Monitor participants in facility and address any unsafe or inappropriate behaviors.
• Be conscious of all equipment guidelines and regulations and consistently enforce all rules and eliminate unsafe apparel, equipment or activities.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and spot individuals using the Strength Center or Cardio Studios as needed or requested.
• Clean equipment periodically and return any equipment and or weights not in use to its designated location.
• Oversee racquetball courts and gymnasium spaces.
• Have the ability to lead and act in intense situations, and handle emergencies when they arise including contacting 911 if needed, reporting injury incidents to administration and completing accident and incident reports.
• Answer questions in person regarding facility and Physical Education courses, field walk-in visits.
