Job summary

Aims Community College is seeking a security officer to safeguard the Greeley campus and its people. This role involves patrolling facilities, handling incidents, and providing first response to emergencies with strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities include conducting patrols, reporting incidents, guiding guests, and enforcing campus rules. The position requires firearms and defensive tactics readiness, strong communication, and collaboration with law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Law, or related field with 3 years of related experience, or 5 years in Law Enforcement or related work experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, urinalysis, and psychological exam.
• Firearms certification and Defensive Tactics certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus facilities on foot, by vehicle, or by bicycle and provide post duties.
• Report security breaches and coordinate with local law enforcement as needed.
• Provide safety escorts and assist with crowd and traffic management.
• Investigate security matters and file complete, timely reports; support Clery reporting.
• Enforce student conduct and campus rules; issue parking tickets where appropriate.
• Respond to emergencies, evacuations, and lockdowns; maintain required certifications.
• Coordinate event security and guide attendees; monitor access and bag checks.
