Job summary

Collaborative Support Programs of NJ seeks two Wellness Mentors to help lead the Wellness Center under the Center Manager. You will model recovery principles, engage members and visitors, and assist in planning, implementing, and sustaining daily operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the center manager, building connections with community resources, and ensuring access to recovery services. A high school diploma and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Peer Certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system, and local resources.
• Willingness to disclose recovery experiences to inspire others.
• Valid NJDriver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Lived experience with mental health/substance use issues encouraged.

Description

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for 2 Wellness Mentors. Under the direction of the Wellness Center Manager, the Wellness Mentor acts as a leader and role model for members, visitors, and community members. The Mentor understands the center's mission as well as basic principles of wellness, recovery and peer support. This position works directly with the Center Manager and in collaboration with the members to plan, implement, and maintain Wellness Center operations.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Collaborate with center manager and members to plan and conduct all aspects of day-to-day operations of the center.
• Work with the center manager to meet and identify the needs of the community and to make connections with other organizations and agencies.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of community resources and agencies to ensure members have access to referrals for substance use recovery agencies, food banks, financial support agencies, and more.

Schedule

• Part-time | 20 hours p/w | Sunday: 11am - 6pm, Monday: 12pm - 6pm, Thursday: 11am - 6pm | Eligible for NJESL
• Part-time | 17 hours p/w | Sunday: 10am - 4pm, Wednesday: 10am - 4pm, Thursday: 11am - 4pm | Eligible for NJESL
• Hourly Rate: $17.50 candidates without a Peer Certificate or related BA. *MUST obtain certification within a year*
• Hourly Rate: $19.23 candidates with a Peer Certificate

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Peer Certification preferred.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
• Ability to carry out domestic duties.
• Bilingual skills are a plus!
• Must have a valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.

Salary Description

Hourly Rate: $17.50 OR $19.23 per hour
