Responsibilities

  • Provide GREAT customer service and anticipate needs of Wellness Center visitors.
  • Promote University Cultural Values.
  • Front desk duties: phone service, files, scheduling, assignments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Create flyers and promo materials for events.
  • Assist in maintaining the Wellness Center website.
  • Follow NCAA/GLIAC and other policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training seminars.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Wellness Center Assistant

DEPARTMENT: CCL-Student Affairs

WORK LOCATION: Grand Rapids - Lettinga Campus

PAY RATE: $13.73 per hour.

SUMMARY:

The Wellness Center Assistant will assist in the oversight of the front desk and serve as the point person for those entering the Wellness Center.This individual will answer and direct phone calls appropriately on behalf of all members of the Wellness Center team, and/or assist any student, staff, faculty member, or guest that comes to the office for support. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision and cultural values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers entering the Wellness Center for various services
  2. Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values
  3. Perform routine office duties including front desk phone service, file management, appointment scheduling, and project completion assigned by staff members
  4. Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive student information
  5. Design flyers and promotional materials for Wellness Center events, programs, and the office in general
  6. Assist in maintaining and updating the Wellness Center website
  7. Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies
    This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations
  8. Develop and maintain skills by participating in ongoing training seminars
  9. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Work study preferred.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress
  • Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform well in the area of customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, develop goals, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals while prioritizing workloads
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University
  • Business office environment - Prolonged sitting and standing, use of personal computer, and telephone (eye and hand strain)
  • No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds
