Job summary

Parkview Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a part-time Wellness Center Assistant to greet members, support wellness goals, and help ensure a safe exercise environment. The role emphasizes care and service in a community-focused setting.

Candidates should be 15+ with a high school diploma; transportation is required. Training and certifications may be provided; prior fitness experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience and/or certification from a national organization preferred.
• Previous fitness experience with basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology preferred.
• Strong human relations skills and ability to communicate with participants and program staff.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Care: Communicate with participants and program staff to provide a welcoming atmosphere.
• Support: Assist members with wellness goals and ensure safety of facilities; respond to emergencies.
• Serve: Orient members with fitness equipment to create a safe, positive environment for goal achievement.

Responsibilities

The Parkview Family YMCA seeks an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Wellness Center Assistant to join our team to create a welcoming atmosphere that leaves a memorable impression on new and current members.

• Care: Strong human relations skills and ability to communicate with participants and program staff.
• Support: P rovide a level of service by connecting with members and their wellness goals, ensuring the safety of members using the facilities, and the ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Serve: O rient members with the fitness equipment to e nsure a safe and positive environment for the participants to succeed in their wellness goals.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Must be 15 years or older and must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:15pm
