Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking a part-time Wellness Center Assistant at the Jackson R. Lehman Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, IN. You will help create a welcoming atmosphere for new and current members while supporting fitness and wellness goals.

Ideal candidates are 16+ with a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and any fitness certification or national organization credential. The role offers evenings and weekend shifts with benefits like membership discounts and staff training

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience and/or certification from a national organization is preferred.
• Previous fitness certification and knowledge of anatomy/physiology is preferred.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Jackson R. Lehman Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Wellness Center Assistant to join our team to create a welcoming atmosphere which leaves a memorable impression on new and current members.

• Connect: Strong human relations skills and ability to communicate with participants and program staff.
• Support: P rovide a level of service by connecting with members and their wellness goals, ensuring the safety of members using the facilities, and the ability to respond to emergencies.
• Motivate:O rient members with the fitness equipment to e nsure a safe and positive environment for the participants to succeed in their wellness goals.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Must be 16 years or older and must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience and/or certification from a national organization is preferred.
• Previous fitness certification and experience with basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, along with wellness equipment, is preferred.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part-time $11.50-$12.00 hourly
