Job summary

The Merriman is seeking an Activities Aide to contribute to a residents-first culture by planning and delivering engaging programs in alignment with individual care plans. You will work to build positive relationships with staff across departments and support residents’ emotional, social, and physical well-being.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily activities, interviewing residents and families for input, and maintaining a safe activity space.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must understand the English language.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities per resident care plan.
• Develop rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Interview residents or family members to gather information for activities planning.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for activities and prepare rooms for programs.
• Provide daily activities such as scheduling movies, parties, and games.
• Oversee residents during activities to promote well-being.
