Job summary

Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehab Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our team and enhance residents’ lives through engaging recreational activities. You will plan, implement, and evaluate activities promoting socialization, fitness, and mental stimulation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Flexible hours including weekends/holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to lift, bend, and move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities for residents.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Coordinate activities and events to stimulate cognitive and physical abilities.
• Collaborate with the therapy team to create individualized activity plans.
• Monitor and evaluate activity effectiveness and maintain schedules.
