Job summary

You will bridge subsurface, drilling, completions, and field teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations. Responsibilities include monitoring real-time drilling performance, leading risk assessments, and mentoring field staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical/chemical engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record of over 2-5 years in drilling operations.
• Well Control Certification (IWCF or IADC).
• Experience with automated drilling systems or advanced digital drilling technologies.
• Knowledge of API, ISO, IADC standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Prior exposure to wellsite operations or field engineering.
• Strong knowledge of drilling technologies, equipment, and regulations.
• Strategic problem-solving and decision-making using advanced drilling tech.
• Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Industry certifications (Well Control, HSE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Document, justify, and approve operational deviations.
• Coordinate daily drilling operations with field staff.
• Reduce operational risk and non-productive time.
• Monitor real-time drilling performance and intervene to optimize.
• Ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of construction/ intervention.
• Ensure compliance with company standards.
• Provide real-time guidance to field personnel.
• Track KPIs like NPT, cost per foot, AFE vs. actuals, uptime.
• Lead after-action reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement new tech and best practices to improve performance.
• Oversee rigs, directional drilling, mud, cementing, and service providers.
• Translate subsurface objectives into executable plans.
• Ensure adherence to standards and contracts.
