Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc is seeking a Weld Technician at our Newton, IA facility. You will lay out pieces, join, surface, and repair metal parts using GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SAW equipment, following blueprints and work orders. You may inspect work for conformance and perform basic equipment maintenance.

The role emphasizes safety, training of production weld operators, and collaboration with plant management to address welding-related issues. This is an hourly position across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 years of production welding experience.
• Pass welding qualification for listed processes within 4 weeks.
• 2 years of training experience for production welders.
• Understanding of NDT: VT/UT/MT/PT.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safe work practices for heavy weld and paint fabrication.
• Audit welding operators and safety practices.
• Troubleshoot welding processes and equipment issues.
• Identify improvement areas and test new welding processes.
• Read Weld Procedure Specifications and customer welding requirements.
• Train new welders and document activities.
• Capably supervise welding power supply calibration and energy delivery.
