Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a Welding Quality Technician to ensure that Martinrea and Customer quality requirements are met by identifying and inputting solutions for welding concerns.

The role involves establishing welding parameters, conducting weld inspections, and supporting robotic weld tasks. The candidate should have post-secondary welding training, knowledge of welding metallurgy, NDE basics, and experience with GMAW and automated welding systems.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary welding technologist/technician program (2+ years)
• Sound understanding of Welding Metallurgy
• Fundamental understanding of NDE techniques
• GMAW, projection and resistance welding
• Manual GMAW experience
• Working experience with industrial robots
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Willingness to work shifts/overtime
• Team-oriented mindset
• Basic knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and measuring equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Understanding of GD&T and core skills
• Understanding of CMM

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain and implement welding parameters to support production and QA
• Conduct weld inspections and analyze weld data, generate reports
• Assist with robotic weld touchups
• Archive and maintain Paxit system
• Contribute to PPAP packages as required
• Maintain knowledge of customer product and engineering specifications
• Participate in problem solving and audits
• Provide weld-related support to all departments
• Cover for other technicians when absent
