Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a skilled Welding/QA Technician to ensure welding processes meet customer specifications. You will establish welding parameters, perform inspections, analyze weld data, and support robotic touchups on the production floor.

Candidate should have a welding technologist/technician background, know welding metallurgy, NDE concepts, and CMM basics. Shift flexibility and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary Welding Technologist/Technician course (2+ yrs)
• Understanding of Welding Metallurgy
• Fundamental understanding of NDE techniques
• Knowledge of GMAW, projection and resistance welding
• Manual GMAW experience
• Experience with industrial robots
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Willing to work shifts and overtime on short notice
• Team-oriented mindset
• ISO/TS 16949:2002 knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge and use of measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges)
• Basic computer skills
• Understanding of Core Skills and GD&T
• Basic understanding of CMM

Responsibilities

• Maintain welding parameters to support production and QA
• Conduct weld inspections and analyze weld data; generate reports
• Assist with robotic weld touchups
• Archive and maintain Paxit system
• Support in PPAP packages as required
• Maintain understanding of customer product and engineering specs
• Participate in problem solving and audits
• Train production personnel on quality requirements
• Attend and support quality meetings as needed
• Provide weld-related issue support to all departments
• Cover for other technicians when absent
