Job summary

The City of Irving is seeking a skilled welding technician to coordinate projects and procure welding materials, while performing and inspecting repairs on machinery and city vehicles. Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and two years of MIG, TIG and Stick welding experience.
• Technical training or certification from a welding school or community college preferred.
• Must have a Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work projects and acquisition of welding materials and equipment.
• Perform and inspect welding repairs on machinery, tools, equipment and city vehicles.
• Inspect shop equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Maintain records for welding activities and inventory.
• Provide technical advice on welding activities and assist mechanics as needed.
