Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Welding Technician I to support welding, fabrication, and assembly of metal structures. You will work under supervision to perform MIG welding, cutting, grinding, and related tasks using established procedures.

This entry-level role emphasizes developing skills in welding, quality standards, and safe work practices. Prior hands-on experience is preferred, and physical endurance is required for standing, lifting, and repetitive motion in an indoor/outdoor setting.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of welding equipment and hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of raw materials used in welding and fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding/cutting equipment.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as qualified.
  • Inspect workpieces for defects and verify conformance with measurements.
  • Select and install torches, tips, and filler rods per specs and supervisor input.
  • Prepare material surfaces for welding and align/ clamp pieces as needed.
  • Identify materials and use correct welding methods and safety practices.
