Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Welding Technician I in Seneca, SC to support welding, fabrication, and assembly of metal structures using MIG welding and related processes. This entry-level role will work under the Fabrication Supervisor and other experienced team members to develop proficiency in welding techniques and safety practices.

Candidates should possess basic welding knowledge, be able to read simple drawings, follow procedures, and safely operate tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of safety guidelines and proper PPE usage.
  • Ability to safely operate forklift and similar equipment when trained.
  • Basic knowledge of materials used in welding and fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding/cutting equipment as directed.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as qualified.
  • Inspect workpieces and verify conformity using measuring tools.
  • Use welding methods per instructions and supervisor direction.
  • Identify correct metals and thicknesses for assigned work.
  • Prepare material surfaces and align/clamp parts for joining.
