Job summary

UCS Inc. in Lincolnton, NC is seeking a skilled welder to maintain and weld items using MIG and TIG processes, aluminum and steel, and various fabrication tasks. You will ensure safety and reliability of required items.

Candidates must be able to operate band saws, grinders, brakes, drills and other metalworking equipment; work independently, follow instructions, and adhere to safety procedures; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent welding skills with MIG and TIG experience.
• Experience with aluminum and steel welding.
• Ability to operate metal fabrication equipment including band saws, grinders, brake, shear, drill, press, chop saw.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good eye for detail and inspection.
• Able to work independently and adhere to safety procedures.
• Ambitious, energetic and quality-conscious.
• Able to regularly lift and move items up to 50 lbs.

• Maintains welds on various items using a variety of processes (manual arc, tungsten inert gas, metallic inert gas, brazing, cement core drilling, sheet metal, steam-fitting etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability and functioning of required items ensuring safety.


• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have both mig and tig welding experience


• Experience working with both Aluminum & Steel


• Ability to operate equipment used in welding and metal fabrication including band saws, grinders, break, shear, drill, press, chop saw etc.


• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.


• Must have good eye for detailed inspection.


• Able to work independently.


• Must adhere to safety procedures.


• Must be ambitious, energetic, and quality conscious.


• Able to regularly lift and adjust items less than 50lbs.

Education

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). The incumbent must demonstrate excellent welding skills.
