Job summary

BW Papersystems, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group, seeks an experienced shop/field welder/fabricator for our Kentucky operation. You will interpret drawings, set up welding equipment for MIG/TIG/arc, and perform grinding and painting as needed.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, determining methods, measuring with precision instruments, and ensuring conformance to specifications. Requires 2–4 years in welding/fabrication and a high school diploma; safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience in industrial welding or fabrication.
• Ability to understand basic blueprints and tolerances.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret moderately complex drawings and route sheets to determine methods and techniques.
• Set up and operate welding equipment; select rods and adjust parameters.
• Perform grinding and painting as required.
• Measure and inspect finished units with precision instruments.
• Identify defective material and report issues to ensure quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in team meetings.
