Job summary

BW Papersystems is seeking an experienced shop/field welder/fabricator in Wisconsin. The role requires interpreting drawings, setting up welding operations, and performing cutting, painting, and finishing tasks on complex parts.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of industrial welding or fabrication experience, reads blueprints, and adheres to safety rules. This on-site position offers a team-oriented environment with opportunities to contribute to quality and production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in industrial welding or fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and specifications.
• Strong attention to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, route sheets, and specs to determine methods.
• Set up and operate welding equipment; adjust current, pressures, and electrodes.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and painting as required.
• Calculate dimensions with micrometers and calipers.
• Inspect finished units with precision tools to ensure specs.
• Identify defects and report to supervisor with details.
• Complete documentation to meet quality and production needs.
• Participate in meetings to resolve cost, quality, or production issues.
• Follow safety procedures at all times.
• Keep work area clean and equipment well-maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.
