Job summary

Utah State University’s School of Professional and Technical Education seeks a full-time, 9-month term lecturer for the Welding Technology program at the Monument Valley Campus in Monument Valley, Utah. The appointment is 95% teaching and 5% service, with start anticipated January 2027.

The successful candidate will teach a variety of welding courses, emphasizing arc processes (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW) and collaborate across statewide program faculty to expand course offerings and support student

Qualifications

• A.S. or A.A.S. in welding or equivalent; able to complete within two years of hire.
• At least two years of welding industry experience with recognized codes.
• CWI certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Journeyman level welding skills in one or more arc processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and develop welding courses with emphasis on arc welding processes.
• Teach GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW following AWS/ASME standards for certificates and AAS welding degree.
• Coordinate with PAC and other faculty to enhance program offerings and student success.
• Advise and recruit students; participate in SkillsUSA and department committees.
