Job summary

Utah State University’s School of Professional and Technical Education seeks a full-time, 9-month Lecturer in Welding Technology to teach a range of welding courses at the Monument Valley campus. The appointment emphasizes classroom and hands-on instruction, aligned with AWS/ASME standards, with a focus on GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and related topics.

The position supports non-traditional and workforce training students, participates in program advisory activities, and collaborates with colleagues

Qualifications

• A.S./A.A.S. or equivalent welding credential; ability to complete within 2 years.
• At least two years of welding industry experience with codes.
• CWI certification or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver classroom and hands-on welding instruction.
• Teach GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW and AWS/ASME standards.
• Teach print reading and welding symbols.
• Deliver evening and non-credit courses for workforce training.
• Assist in equipment management and facility improvements.
• Coordinate PAC meetings with industry partners.
• Advise and recruit students; participate in departmental activities.
