Job summary

West Georgia Technical College is seeking a Welding Technical Instructor to deliver both theory and practical welding instruction across day, evening, and online formats for traditional and dual-enrolled students.

The role requires a Diploma in Welding, welding experience, and passing AWS tests. A driver’s license is required. The position is full-time and on-campus with opportunities to engage in program development and student success initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Welding from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of experience in Welding.
• Must pass an AWS plate welding test as a condition of employment.
• For Carroll, LaGrange, and Murphy campuses, must pass AWS pipe welding test in addition to plate welding test.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of Welding and Joining Technology.
• Instructs face-to-face, hybrid, or on-campus, as needed.
• Evaluates student progress and grades all coursework in a timely manner.
• Maintains documentation and prepares administrative reports.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends in Welding and Joining Technology.
