Job summary

DNOW L.P. is seeking a Welding Supervisor to lead all welding activities in an ASME Code fabrication environment.

You will supervise welders and fitters, enforce procedures, coordinate with QA/QC and project teams, and ensure compliance with ASME BPVC, B31.3, and AWS requirements while meeting production schedules. You will mentor staff, drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, and provide technical guidance on SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW processes to ensure

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years welding experience in heavy industrial fabrication or related fields.
• Proven ability to supervise welders and meet code requirements.
• Strong reading of blueprints, weld maps, and fabrication drawings.
• Certified to lead safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily welding activities for pressure vessels, piping, and structural assemblies.
• Assign work, prioritize tasks, and monitor productivity to meet fabrication schedules.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and consumables to support efficient workflow.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and welding related issues.
• Ensure all welding complies with ASME Section IX, ASME Section VIII, B31.3, and AWS requirements.
• Verify proper use of qualified WPS and WPQ.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and NDE personnel for RT, UT, PT, and MT inspections.
• Maintain weld maps, traceability, and ASME documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for weld defects.
• Enforce safety procedures related to hot work, confined space, lifting, OSHA requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate welders and fitters.
• Interpret drawings and weld symbols; provide technical guidance on SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW.
• Ensure proper joint fit up, preheat and interpass temperature control, PWHT.
• Troubleshoot welding defects and metallurgical issues.
