Job summary

Job Title: Welding Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welding Supervisor to lead and manage our welding operations. This role involves developing and evaluating welding procedures, selecting materials, and ensuring quality control while adhering to welding codes and standards. You will provide leadership and mentorship to junior welders and manage the scheduling and assessment of work completed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate welding procedures.
• Assist with tooling and fixturing designs required for weld operations.
• Select base materials and welding materials.
• Control production weld quality.
• Utilize welding codes and standards.
• Manage and supervise personnel, including mentoring junior welders.
• Plan and schedule work, assign tasks, and assess completed work.
• Monitor and approve employee time-keeping records.
• Communicate performance measures and provide collaborative direction to team members.
• Coach welders on improving techniques with a focus on step-by-step guidance.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience with gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), TIG, or gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
• 2+ years of experience leading a team or a project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience managing more than 10 employees.
• Ability to interpret drawings and weld symbols per AWS A2.4.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.6.
• Technical trade school certificate.
• Capable of cutting, polishing, and etching weld test samples.
• Experience with Inconel welding and fabrication.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $52.00/hr.
