Job summary

G. W. BECKER INC. seeks a Welder Level II to join our fabrication team. You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols and weld metal components in flat, vertical or overhead positions to join parts and fill seams.

The role requires a Technical Welding Program background and 1-3 years of related experience, plus AWS 1-G certification. You will operate SMAW and GMAW equipment and may handle overhead crane operations on a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Technical Welding Program with 1-3 years of related experience.
• Must have AWS 1-G certification.
• Experience with overhead crane is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Weld metal components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
• Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to assembly.
• Finish surfaces and re-touch welds, including repair and grind.
• Examine finished welds for conformance to quality standards.
• Operate hand and power tools including SMAW and GMAW equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
