Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is hiring a Welder II for our Cortland, OH facility. You will weld aluminum, steel and other metals to engineering drawings, using arc and gas welding processes, and prepare surfaces for welding.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, 2–5 years welding experience, Welding Certification, Crane/Forklift in-house training, and a valid driver’s license; must wear PPE and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years welding experience.
• Crane/Forklift in-house training to obtain certification.
• Welding Certification.
• Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs welding processes on aluminum, steel and other metals’ parts using welding metals and metal alloys.
• Welds parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Under general supervision, uses hand welding and flame cutting equipment such as arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches to weld together metal components (flat, horizontal, or vertical plates and pipes).
• Works from sketches, prints, operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
• Performs welding in multiple positions (G3, G6).
• Assigned to lead a specific project without supervision.
• Builds up worn and/or defected surfaces
• Other work may be assigned at Management’s discretion.
