Job summary

Dave Steel Company is seeking a skilled welder to join our Shelby fabrication facility on the 2nd shift. You will read blueprints, perform precise measurements, and weld structural steel to exact specifications using FCAW/MCAW with safety and quality as priorities.

We value teamwork, dependability, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Eligible candidates will have at least 3 years of welding experience and AWS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of welding structural steel experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Current or past AWS FCAW/MCAW certification.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• A team player who can work with peers in a demanding environment.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage changing priorities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow verbal instructions.
• Must have good math skills and read feet/inches and fractions.
• Must pass 1 inch thick 2-G welder qualification.
• Must pass tack welder qualification (visual macro break test).
• Ability to use carbon air-arc for back gouging.
